Dolgellau 20 - Bethesda 7

Bethesda lost their Quarter Final North Wales Cup tie away at Dolgellau.

The hosts were the better team on the day and deservedly went through to the Semi Final away match against Nant Conwy.

With the home side dominating territory and possesion in the first period, Bethesda's only threat was No 8 Rhys Williams's solo run along the touchline.

Dion Jones's penalty and Gerwyn Pugh's try, converted by Jones, gave Dolgellau a 10 points to nil lead at half time.

Early in the second half Dolgellau went further ahead when No 8 Dewi Thomas crossed close to the posts and Jones converted. Jones added another penalty giving the hosts a 20 points to nil lead.

Bethesda finally woke up in the last quarter and replacement centre Gareth Edwards scored and converted a consolation try.

Bethesda will need to man up this Saturday for the visit of Abergele before another enforced break for international matches.
