Methodd Bethesda fanteisio ar ddiffyg disgyblaeth Yr Wyddgrug mewn gêm oedd ar gael i’w hennill. Dangoswyd 5 cerdyn melyn i chwaraewyr y tîm cartref ond ni lwyddwyd i sgorio yr un pwynt yn y cyfnodau pan oedd y gwrthwynebwyr un yn brin.

Sgoriodd Yr Wyddgrug drosgais cynnar o symudiad wedi ei baratoi o linell ond ar ôl 13 munud roedd Bethesda yn ôl yn gyfartal yn dilyn cais unigol ardderchog gan yr wythwr Rhys Williams. Ciciodd Gareth Edwards y trosiad.

2 funud yn ddiweddarach dyfarnwyd cic gosb i’r Wyddgrug ac roedd y sgôr ar yr egwyl yn 10 pwynt i 7 i’r tîm cartref.

Ildiodd Bethesda gais yn gynnar yn yr ail hanner wrth i sawl tacl gael eu methu. Er yn chwarae i fyny’r cae, Bethesda oedd yn rheoli’r meddiant ond doedd dim golwg sgorio cais ar yr ymwelwyr. Unig sgôr Bethesda oedd gôl gosb gan Aiden Guenole a chafodd honno ei hateb gan gôl gosb y tîm cartref. Roedd hon yn gic wnaeth ddwyn pwynt bonws posib Bethesda.

Gêm a aeth o afael Bethesda felly oedd hon a bydd disgwyl gwell ar Dôl Ddafydd gyda 2 gêm gartref i ddod cyn wynebu Llanisien i ffwrdd ym Mhlât SWALEC.

Bethesda failed to capitalise on Mold’s indiscipline in a match they could have won. 5 Mold players were shown yellow cards but no points were scored during the time in which the opposition was one man short.

Mold scored an early converted try from a well prepared move from a lineout but after 13 minutes Bethesda were back on equal terms. No 8 Rhys Williams scored an excellent individual try which was converted by Gareth Edwards.

2 minutes later Mold were awarded a penalty giving the home side a 10 points to 7 lead by the interval.

Bethesda yielded a try early in the second half when a number of missed tackles enabled the Mold fullback to score in the corner. Although playing up the slope Bethesda had most of the possession but did not look like scoring a try. The visitors’ only score was a pensalty goal from Aiden Guenole but that score was negated by a penalty goal from the home side and took away Bethesda’s possible bonus point.

A result which got away from Bethesda then and better will be expected at Dôl Ddafydd with 2 home games to play before meeting Llanishen away in the SWALEC Plate.
